Keanu Reeves was born on September 2, 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon to a British mother and American father. He spent much of his childhood living in different countries including Australia and the United States. Reeves attended several different schools as a child and struggled academically due to dyslexia.
Reeves began acting in high school theater productions and eventually decided to pursue a career in acting. He made his film debut in the Canadian drama film "One Step Away" in 1985. He gained further recognition with roles in films such as "River's Edge" and "Dangerous Liaisons" in the late 1980s.
It was his role as Ted in the 1989 comedy "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" that solidified Reeves as a rising star in Hollywood. He went on to star in several successful films in the 1990s including "Point Break," "Speed," and "The Matrix" trilogy.
Throughout his career, Reeves has been praised for his versatility as an actor and his dedication to his craft. He has also gained a reputation for being humble, down-to-earth, and philanthropic.
